BACKGROUND:
The Public Works Department continues to move forward with a variety of multimodal transportation safety measures throughout the City. Staff will report on the status of projects pertinent to the MultiModal Transportation and Safety Committee, current grant opportunities, and highlight select projects to be considered as future projects to be funded with Grant Funds.
There will also be a presentation from Blue Zones to highlight project opportunities at Williams Elementary school around Niles and Monterey Area, in order improve traffic safety and security around the school and the neighborhood, which also aligns to the goals and priorities of the Council and this Committee.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no cost to review the progress made on multimodal transportation safety measures throughout the City. However, many of the projects are funded with grant funds and the only general funds cost is granting matching dollars that are applied for with these potential grants.
