Public Health and Safety
I would like to address health and safety in our city. I have the following items to be addressed:
1.I live in Sun Lakes. Along Sun Lakes Boulevard,
between the Country Club main gate and The
Lakes on the north side of the street, there are
pepper trees that have not been maintained in
several years. The branches are dropping down to
the ground. There are a couple of palm trees that
have not been maintained either as well as a dead
tree. I have recent pictures to show the proper
departments.
2.1 shop at Sun Lakes Village early in the morning to
avoid a crowd of shoppers. On the southwest
corner of the former Banning Point property
across from the bus stops, shopping carts are left
and the area has a collection of trash. The
shopping center is not being maintained by the
property owners as the trash cans are not emptied
regularly and the parking lot is not being swept.
Exhibit A
3.1 would like to see a fence along the west side of
the former Banning Point project and along the
north side of the Sun Lakes Village Shopping
Center to keep people from going on the railroad
tracks and mitigate the accumulation of trash.
4.1 would like to see our Public Works department
and Caltrans clean up along Joshua Palmer on
both sides of the fence. Also, Livingston Street
between 6th St. and San Gorgonio needs attention
as tumble weeds are growing along the freeway
side of the street and collecting trash.
I have already addressed these items with the Sun
Lakes HOA, Banning Public Works, Caltrans, and
Senator Ochoa-Bogh's office. Each one points to the
other as responsible. So where does the "buck"
stop?
Thank you for your attention and consideration.
