RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF APPLICATIONS FOR CALRECYCLE GRANTS (REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 5015-2021)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Request for approval of resolution authorizing the City to submit applications for CalRecycle grants and repealing Resolution No. 5015-2021.
DISCUSSION:
CalRecycle offers opportunities to assist public and private entities in the safe and effective management of the waste stream through their grant and payment programs. Any grant applicant subject to a governing body must submit a resolution authorizing the submittal of applications and specific grantrelated matters.
On January 7, 2021, Council adopted Resolution No. 5015-2021 authorizing the City to submit for any future grants offered by CalRecycle. The resolution indicated it would be “valid until rescinded” but CalRecycle has now specified that grant resolutions may only be valid for a maximum of five years.
Consequently, the City must now update the grant resolution to reflect the maximum 5 year validity period in order to meet the criteria for future CalRecycle grant applications.

None.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
That the City Council approve Resolution No. _______-2022 authorizing submittal of applications for CalRecycle grants and related authorizations, repealing Resolution 5015-2021 and waive the full reading.
