A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE BARSTOW FIRE
PROTECTION DISTRICT, AMENDING THE PURCHASING POLICY & CONTRACT GUIDELINES, ADDING ADDENDUM A: SB 1383 RECOVERED ORGANIC WASTE
PROCURMENT POLICY
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Policy and Contract Guidelines of the City of Barstow establish a purchasing system for the purchase of supplies, equipment and services, and WHEREAS, Senate Bill 1383 requires cities and counties to annually procure a certain quantity of recovered organic waste products such as compost, mulch, and renewable energy to meet their annual procurement target, and
WHEREAS, in addition, SB 1383 requires that all departments within a jurisdiction purchase paper products that contain postconsumer recycled content and are recyclable, and WHEREAS, jurisdictions must keep records of all procurement activities, and WHEREAS, City staff has developed a policy as a tool to help support its obligation to comply with the requirements of SB 1383, and
WHEREAS, the District Board wishes to amend the Purchasing Policy and Contract Guidelines to add Addendum A: SB 1383 Recovered Organic Waste Procurement Policy, and
NOW, THEREFORE, THE DISTRICT BOARD OF THE BARSTOW FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT DOES HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Purchasing Policy and Contract Guidelines attached hereto are hereby adopted.
Section 2. All previous versions of the Purchasing Policy and Contract Guidelines are hereby repealed.
Section 3. Any and all resolutions in conflict with this Resolution are hereby repealed.
Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect immediately and the District Board shall certify as to the adoption of this District Board Resolution.
