AGENDA MATTER:
CONSIDERATION TO CANCEL THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING SCHEDULED FOR JULY 4, 2022 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The July 4 2022, City Council meeting falls on Independence Day. There are no agenda items currently planned for this meeting. Staff is proposing that the City Council meeting scheduled for July 4, 2022, be cancelled.
DISCUSSION:
Barstow Municipal Code Section 2.04.020 (Meeting falling on holiday), states the following:
“Whenever the regular City Council meeting dates established by Section 2.04.010 of this chapter fall on a holiday as defined by the City’s personnel policy, the City Manager shall be authorized to cancel such regular meeting at his or her discretion, or reschedule such regular meeting at the same time and place on the next succeeding official business day of the City. (Ord. 808, § 2, 2005: Ord. 361, § 2, 1972: Ord. 268, § 3, 1967)"
The July 4, 2022, City Council meeting falls on the Independence Day. There are no agenda items currently planned for this meeting. Staff is proposing that the City Council meeting scheduled for July 4, 2022, be cancelled.

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Cancel the July 4, 2022, City Council meeting.
