AGENDA MATTER:
PROTEST HEARING - UNPAID NUISANCE ABATEMENT FEES
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Conduct a protest hearing for those property owners who have been notified regarding an assessment for certain unpaid nuisance abatement fees.
DISCUSSION:
At the meeting on April 18, 2022 the City Council set May 16,2022 at 7:00 p.m. as the date and time for a hearing regarding the report of unpaid nuisance abatement fees.
The hearing is for property owners who have been notified by letter regarding an assessment for certain unpaid nuisance abatement fees.
Records are updated as payments are received from property owners. Delinquent amounts are reflected as of April 18, 2022.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Accounts will be forwarded to the County of San Bernardino. Upon adoption of the resolution, the past due nuisance abatements will be added to the property owners' property tax bill for collection. At this time, there is $5,368.88 in past due nuisance abatement fees.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Conduct a protest hearing. Subject to testimony received, adopt attached Resolution No. ______2022, Making Determinations and Confirming Assessments and Proceedings for Unpaid Nuisance Abatement Fees, and waive the reading.
