SUBJECT: Change Order #8 - for North 1st Avenue Bridge Over the BNSF Railroad Dear Domingo:
The previous Change Order #6, Phase II, included the submittal of final PS&E package and one comment/review cycle to address any questions from the City, update the package, and submit responses with final plans ready for the Bid Phase.
As requested by the City, to keep the project moving forward, we’ve accommodated three additional formal comment/review cycles from SBCTA after the final PS&E submittal. These cycles included back-checks, comments not captured in older design packages, Constructability Review, Quantity Independent Check, Cost Estimate and SSPs iterations.
In parallel, we have been supporting the City and SBCTA to address comments from HBP HQ regarding construction funding, participating and non-participating items work in the Cost Estimate, and justifications of geometric design. These activities require numerous revisions of the Cost Estimate in addition to those from the formal comment/review cycles.
This Change Order #8 was prepared to cover the additional fee for this additional scope of work along with Bid Phase support to the City and SBCTA. The total fee for Change Order #8 is $50,000.00 and would increase the total contract by this amount.
Please review the attached, and if in agreement, sign and return a fully executed copy for our files.
Sincerely,
KLEINFELDER, INC.
