A MESSAGE FROM THE CHIEF
It is my privilege to introduce the Barstow Police Department’s 2021 annual report. This report highlights some of the work accomplished by the 66 professional men and women of the Barstow Police Department. The Barstow Police Department is committed to providing professional, fair, and compassionate law enforcement services with integrity and respect.

As your Chief of Police, I want to assure you that our department is dedicated to serving the City of Barstow and we are committed to working with City leaders and our community to find better ways for us to serve.

The Barstow Police Department believes that community partnerships, comprehensive policing practices such as evidence-based policing strategies, and the use of technological innovations, are key components in deterring and reducing criminal activity in our community.

Our pledge to our citizens is to provide fair and ethical policing services and remain diligent in our efforts to make Barstow safe for all those who live, work and visit our great community.

ABOUT BPD
The Barstow Police Department employs 66 full-time employees, including 46 sworn police officers and 20 civilian staff. Our professional staff is proud to serve our community of over 25,000 residents. Every member of the Barstow Police Department is committed to our mission, goals, and core values: Integrity, Respect, and Commitment. To maximize resources and in order to provide the highest level of policing service to the Barstow community, the department has divided the City into three geographic areas called Patrol Beats: Western, Downtown, and College Heights. At any given time, there are 1-2 officers actively patrolling each Beat. This does not count Detectives, the Crime Impact Team, or other police personnel on duty.

In November of 2021, the department re-structured the Beats based on population and the number of anticipated service calls. 2021 UNIFORM CRIME REPORT STATISTICS
