SUBJECT: Contract Extension for North First Avenue, BARSTOW Overhead Replace (Br. No. 54C-0088) - PS&E
Dear Mr. Gonzales:
Per our previous conversation, Kleinfelder is requesting a contract extension for the North First Avenue Bridge, Bartow Overhead Replace project PS&E phase. The original contract expired on October 20, 2020. Since then, we have continued to perform work to prevent delays on the project, and the City has continued to pay our invoices. However, continuing to work without a contract could pose serious risks for Kleinfelder and the City.
A three-year extension is recommended for December 2025, to cover any construction delays.
Per SBCTA, construction is set to take place November 2022 to May 2024, with close-out in May 2025.
This contract extension request does not include any fee request. Please provide authorization for the contract extension so that Kleinfelder can proceed with work on the project.
