AWARD OF COMMUNITY PROMOTIONAL FUNDS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2022-2023 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The Community Promotional Fund provides funding and resources for community-based organizations, schools and individuals that develop events and programs to meet new and continuing social and economic needs and trends, promote community collaboration, and/or bring recognition to the community.
At the June 20, 2022 City Council meeting, the 2022-2023 Budget was adopted which includes an $82,200 appropriation from the Measure Q Fund for the Planned Community Promotional Fund.
DISCUSSION:
On April 7, 1997, the Community Promotional Fund Policy was adopted and then updated at the August 19, 2013 City Council meeting. The purpose of this policy is to establish guidelines for funding and supporting events that provide social and economic benefits and/or recognition to the community. A total of five applications were received in early April for Fiscal Year 2022-2023.
In reviewing the five applications received, staff recommends awarding a total of $36,576 of in-kind donations of fee waivers from the Measure Q Fund. Attachment A provides a list of organizations receiving in-kind donations waiver of fees for Fiscal Year 2022-2023.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Measure Q - Community Promotional Fund Account No.102.150.542.07.755 for $36,576 of in-kind donation of fee waivers.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Authorize the allocation from the Measure Q Fund towards providing in-kind donations of fee waivers in the amount of $36,576 for Fiscal Year 2022-2023.
