APPROVAL OF PURCHASE OF TALL CROP FARM TRACTOR
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Staff seeks the City Council's approval to enter into an agreement with Scott's Equipment in the amount of $120,636.00 to purchase a 2022 New Holland Tall Crop Farm Tractor.
DISCUSSION:
Staff is currently using a 2018 Case 570N EP 4WD utility tractor for the mixing of the Wastewater Treatment Plant’s solar drying beds, which has expensive maintenance and repair costs. The low profile of the Case utility tractor also causes the front axle and many electrical components to be repeatedly submerged in sludge. This causes abnormal wear and tear along with damage to these components.
These issues have caused premature mechanical and electrical failures and extended downtime while creating a significant financial impact on the Wastewater Department’s vehicle maintenance budget and substantial impacts within the bio solids operation.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Description amount for the New Holland TS6.110 II T4B Tractor at $120,636.00 including tax and delivery. Fiscal impact of purchasing this tractor would be allocated from equipment refurbish 400.803.320.23.605
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Staff recommends that the City Council take the following actions:
1. Authorize staff to purchase the New Holland Tall Crop Farm Tractor, from Scott's Equipment, from account number 400.803.320.23.605 from the Wastewater Equipment Refurbish Fund; and
2.Give the City Manager or designee the authority to execute the necessary agreement.
