DISCUSSION:

The City Council desires to reconvene the Wastewater Reclamation Facility Improvement Project Subcommittee to facilitate the orderly renovation of the City's wastewater treatment plant and collection system. Mayor Joe Gomez and Mayor Pro Tem Julie Montyre were selected as the Committee to represent the Council during the December 6, 2010 reorganization of the City Council. On July 26, 2011, the Wastewater Reclamation Facility Improvement Project Subcommittee held its meeting. The Committee members recommends that the primary focus of this committee should be to:

1. Review current construction projects related to the renovation of the wastewater treatment plant funded by the Economic Development Administration grant, the Environmental Protection Agency Grant, City's Capital Enterprise Fund, and the Johnson Controls, Inc. Energy Savings Agreement.

2. Review the collection system construction projects funded by the recent sewer rate increase to verify that the fees are being used properly.
