PRESENTATION OF PROCLAMATION IN RECOGNITION OF NATIONAL FAIR HOUSING MONTH EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
A proclamation will be presented to the High Desert Association of Realtors in recognition of National Fair Housing Month.
DISCUSSION:
National Fair Housing Month celebrates the passing of the Fair Housing Act in April 1968, a national law that prohibits discrimination in the sale, rental, and financing of housing based on race, color, national origin, religion, and gender. The Act was later amended to include protections for people with disabilities and families with children. A proclamation will be presented to the High Desert Association of Realtors in recognition of National Fair Housing Month.
