Mission of New Hope Village
The mission of NHV is to provide subsidized housing and wraparound supportive services to homeless families and individuals in order to empower them to permanently break out of homelessness, food insecurity, and poverty.
New Hope Village, Inc. first opened its doors in 1999. In 2001, NHV became its own 501c3 non-profit organization, and has been going strong ever since in its efforts to change lives and give hope! NHV currently has partnerships with local churches, oversees a food bank program, and manages programs to fight hunger, poverty, and homelessness in coordination with Barstow Community College, the County of San Bernardino, and local churches. Funding sources include Federal and State Grants, County programs, other non-profit organizations that support programs to fight homelessness and food insecurity, Foundation Donations, and Corporate and Individual Donations.
NHV offers safe, decent and affordable apartments and homes to support the homeless. As of this writing, we manage 10 apartments and 2 houses to assist motivated families and individuals in gaining self-sufficiency. Our program is designed to help motivated families and individuals get back on their feet and overcome situational & lifestyle choices that have resulted in homelessness. Clients are taught responsibility, integrity, budgeting, time management, life skills, and community service.
Our Vision of The Future
Our vision is a community where our alumni use the skills learned in our programs to create new lives of hope.
