APPOINT COUNCIL MEMBER HERNANDEZ AS THE PRIMARY REPRESENTATIVE AND COUNCIL MEMBER MARILYN D. KRUSE AS THE ALTERNATE TO THE SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY
TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY (SBCTA) BOARD OF DIRECTORS
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Mayor Courtney resigned from the SBCTA Board of Directors, effective August 11, 2023. As a result, the City Council has been asked to appoint a new representative. Council Member Carmen Hernandez will serve as the Primary Representative and Council Member Marilyn D. Kruse as the Alternate. The Primary Representative and Alternate will be responsible for advocating for Barstow's interests in transportation planning, funding, and policy decisions within San Bernardino County.
DISCUSSION:
The San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) plays a crucial role in the development and implementation of transportation projects and policies within our county. As a member agency, it is essential for the City to have a representative and an alternate on the SBCTA Board to ensure that our community's interests are adequately represented and protected.

1. Appoint Council Member Carmen Hernandez as representative to the SBCTA Board.
2. Appoint Council Member Marilyn D. Kruse as alternate to the SBCTA Board.
