REQUEST TO CANCEL AND RESCHEDULE UPCOMING CITY COUNCIL MEETING IN LIGHT OF HOLIDAY SCHEDULE.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Consideration to Cancel and Move the Following City Council MeetingCancel Scheduled Meeting for January 3, 2024 Move Scheduled Meeting for January 15, 2024, to January 16, 2024 (MLK Day) Move Scheduled Meeting for February 19, 2024, to February 20, 2024 (Presidents Day) DISCUSSION:
Barstow Municipal Code Section 2.04.020 (Meeting falling on holiday), states the following:
“Whenever the regular City Council meeting dates established by Section 2.04.010 of this chapter fall on a holiday as defined by the City’s personnel policy, the City Manager shall be authorized to cancel such regular meeting at his or her discretion, or reschedule such regular meeting at the same time and place on the next succeeding official business day of the City. (Ord. 808, § 2, 2005: Ord. 361, § 2, 1972: Ord. 268, § 3, 1967)"
Staff is recommending:
Canceling the regular meeting for January 3, 2024
Move the scheduled meeting for January 15, 2024, to January 16, 2024 (MLK Day), Move the scheduled meeting for February 19, 2024, to February 20, 2024 (Presidents Day). to its regularly scheduled time and place.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve to Cancel and/or Move the following City Council Meetings.
Cancel Scheduled Meeting for January 3, 2024.
Move Scheduled Meeting for January 15, 2024, to January 16, 2024 (MLK Day).
Move Scheduled Meeting for February 19, 2024, to February 20, 2024 (Presidents Day).
