AWARD A CONTRACT FOR PROJECT 2021-05 GENERATOR REPLACEMENT AT THE FIRE DISTRICT'S STATION 363
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Staff is requesting approval to award a change order for the generator replacement at the Fire District's Station 363.
DISCUSSION:
To provide efficient emergency service to the city, Fire District Station 363 provides critical responders.
Station 363 has been experiencing problems with the emergency generator operations. Utilizing the formal bidding process, two bids were received by the November 23, 2021 due date. The lowest responsive and responsible bid amount was supplied by Delta Electric, LLC in the amount of $61,200.00 On December 20th 2021 the City awarded the contract to Delta Electric and gave them the Notice to Proceed with Construction.
Due to necessary upgrades to the energy supply system of Fire Station 363 and for compatibility with the new Replacement Generator a budget increase of $8,200 is necessary to complete and closeout this project. Without approval of the change order, the Replacement Generator can not provide a back up energy power supply required for Fire Station #363. With approval of the change order, all labor, parts and equipment necessary for project completion will be provided.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Approve a change order in the amount of $8,200 and increase the previous project budget of $73,440.00 to a new total in the amount of $81,640 and appropriate the funding to the following accounts:
Expenditure Account #: 202.202.202.08.813. (2024 expenditure account # may differ) RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Staff Recommends that the City Council take the following actions:
1. Approve the change order to complete the project to Delta Electric, LLC.
2. Approve and appropriate a change order in the amount of $8,200 and an overall project budget of $81,640.00.
