AGENDA MATTER:
AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR NORTH BARSTOW ADA INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Plans and specifications for the North Barstow Infrastructure Improvement Project were recently requested for bids. Following the formal bidding process, the City received a single qualifying bid. It is recommended by the staff to award the contract to TSR Construction and Inspection.
DISCUSSION:
During the City Council meeting on February 22, 2022, a decision was made to allocate CDBG funding for infrastructure enhancements to address ADA barriers in Barstow City. The project was publicly announced on February 16, 2024, with a deadline for submissions set for March 13, 2024, at 2:00 pm.
A single eligible bid was received and has been thoroughly reviewed and approved by Project Manager, Jim Merrell of Merrell Johnson.
The bid was also assessed by CDBG, and a Letter of Approval to Proceed with the award of the contract has been issued by the County.
TSR Construction and Inspection $356,113
FISCAL IMPACT:
None as project is supported with CDBG Funding.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Staff Recommends that the City Council take the following actions:
1. Award project number 2023-02 / BARS-22-1-03K/0260 North Barstow ADA Infrastructure Project to TSR Construction and Inspection.
2. Approve an overall project budget of $356,113.
3. And authorize the City Manager or designated representative to sign the contract.
