ACCEPTANCE OF THE FY 23-24 BEVERAGE CONTAINER RECYCLING CITY/COUNTY PAYMENT
PROGRAM AWARD
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) provides this payment program for local jurisdictions to assist with beverage container recycling and litter reduction programs.
DISCUSSION:
Staff was informed of the successful FY 23-24 application and award recommendation to the City of Barstow in the amount of $6,591.00.
Eligible expenditures under this program include:
Beverage Container Collection Programs
Litter Clean-Up Activities
Advertising/Promotional Material
Recycling Education
Personnel
The application and guidelines stipulate the terms and conditions of the payment program.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None. This payment program is prefunded and all expenditures will be charged against the designated grant account.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve the acceptance of the FY 23-24 Beverage Container Recycling City/County Payment Program Award, direct staff to complete the related budget appropriation, allocate the total award of $6,591.00 to Account 218.218.218.07.711, and carry out projects as approved by CalRecycle.
