RESOLUTION NO. _____-2025
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BARSTOW RENAMING THE BARSTOW SENIOR CENTER TO “THE JEFF L. EASON SR.
SENIOR CENTER” IN HIS HONOR
WHEREAS, JEFF L. EASON SR. moved to the city of Barstow in 1969 and was the second UPS driver for the city; and
WHEREAS, JEFF L. EASON SR. retired in 2001 and became a member of the Barstow Senior Center; and
WHEREAS, JEFF L. EASON SR. was elected as President of the Senior Center in 2002; and
WHEREAS, JEFF L. EASON SR. because of his tremendous dedication to the seniors of Barstow, was re-elected as President of the Senior Center for 22 consecutive years; and
WHEREAS, during this time, JEFF L. EASON SR. an advocate for senior health and nutrition coordinated the Nutrition Program for Barstow and also helped 9 additional Senior Centers with meals; and
WHEREAS, JEFF L. EASON SR. started several exercise classes, vaccination services, and outings for the senior community; and
WHEREAS, JEFF L. EASON SR. dedication to providing a better life for the senior community; and
WHEREAS, The address 555 Melissa Ave, Barstow, CA 92311 currently known as the Barstow Senior Center, be renamed “THE JEFF L. EASON SR. SENIOR CENTER” in his honor; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
The City Council of the City of Barstow hereby authorizes the renaming of the Barstow Senior Center to “The Jeff L. Eason Sr. Senior Center” in his honor.
