Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
Between the Barstow Professional Firefighters Association (BPFA) and the Barstow Fire Protection District (BFPD)
Article 2 – Recognition and Scope of Representation
AMENDMENT TO MOU BETWEEN
THE CITY OF BARSTOW
AND
THE BARSTOW PROFESSIONAL FIREFIGHTERS’ ASSOCIATION (BPFA) The Barstow Fire Protection District (“District”) and the Barstow Professional Firefighters’ Association (BPFA), hereby enter into this Agreement in order to modify the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) entered into between the District and the BFPA on December 19, 2022 with an effective date of July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2025.
The Amendment to the MOU is made necessary to amend the positions that are represented by the BPFA and this Amendment shall be incorporated into the MOU by this reference. Article 2 – Recognition and Scope of Representation shall be amended to remove add the Firefighter/Paramedic EMT and replaced with the Firefighter position. Article 2 – Recognition and Scope of Representation shall be amended and replaced in its entirety as follows:
ARTICLE 29 – RECOGNITION AND SCOPE OF REPRESENTATION
The District recognizes that the following positions shall be represented by the Association:
• Fire Captain
• Fire Engineer
• Firefighter/EMT
• Firefighter/Paramedic
The Association’s scope of representation shall include all matters pertaining to wages, hours, and other term and conditions of employment.
