AGENDA MATTER:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BARSTOW, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE FEE SCHEDULE AND ADOPTING FEES FOR EQUIPMENT RENTAL FEES (FY 2025/2026) EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Staff completed the annual process of thoroughly reviewing the City's fees in effect for the 2025/2026 Fiscal Year. Subsequent to this review, staff presented the Master Fee Schedule to the City Council for consideration at the June 17, 2025, Council meeting. Since that meeting, staff were made aware that fees related to Equipment Rentals were not included in the fee schedule. The Resolution to adopt the Fiscal Year 2025/2026 proposed changes to the Miscellaneous Fee Schedules is attached for the Council's review and consideration.
DISCUSSION:
Staff completed the annual process of thoroughly reviewing the City's fees in effect for the 2025/2026 Fiscal Year. Subsequent to this review, staff presented the Master Fee Schedule to the City Council for consideration at the June 17, 2025, Council meeting. Since that meeting, staff were made aware that fees related to the Equipment Rentals were not included in the fee schedule. The proposed fee schedule has been amended to include the following Miscellaneous Fee:
- Equipment Rental Fee based on the State of California, California State Transportation Agency, Department of Transportation's Labor Surcharge and Equipment Rental Rates.
If approved, the newly adopted fee schedule will go into effect immediately after the Council’s approval unless otherwise noted. These proposed changes are included in the attached table recommended for adoption.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The proposed Equipment Rental Fee is charged by the City of Barstow to provide services requested beyond regulary scheduled departmental duties and recover the costs associated for the request.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the attached Resolution No. ____-2025 amending the Fiscal Year 2025/2026 Fee Schedule and adopting fees for Equipment Rentals, and waive the full reading.
