PRESENTATION OF PROCLAMATION TO DESERT SANCTUARY, INC. IN RECOGNITION OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH - OCTOBER 2025
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
A proclamation will be presented to Desert Sanctuary, Inc. in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month - October 2025.
DISCUSSION:
Domestic violence is a national tragedy affecting individuals of all ages and genders, causing immense damage to families. It is crucial to provide victims with the necessary assistance and support to combat this problem. Desert Sanctuary, Inc., a local organization established in 1982, offers resources, assistance, and shelter to local victims of domestic violence, making it easier for them to escape this physical and mental abuse.
To raise awareness and support the fight against domestic violence, October is designated as Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The City of Barstow is committed to eliminating domestic violence and recognizes this month as a time to demonstrate its support. In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the City will present a proclamation to Desert Sanctuary, Inc.
