SUBJECT: Contract Extension for North First Avenue Bridge Over Mojave River Dear Fidel:
Per our conversation with City staff this August, Kleinfelder is requesting a contract extension for the North First Avenue Bridge Over Mojave River project. Phase I (PAED) was completed in 2021. The original contract expired on January 4, 2019. Since then, we have continued to perform work to prevent delays on the project, and the City has continued to pay our invoices.
However, continuing to work without a contract poses risks for Kleinfelder and the City. We request extending the contract to January 4, 2030, or end of project construction, whichever is later, to cover Final Design (Phases II, III, and IV).
This contract extension request does not include additional fee request. Please provide authorization for the contract extension so that Kleinfelder can proceed with work on the project.
