SOFTBALL
Two-Year Development Plan for Barstow Little Leaque Softball Dear City of Barstow,
On behalf of Barstow Little League Softball, we would like to thank you for your continued support of our youth sports program. Our league is dedicated to providing a safe, positive, and developmental environment for the children of Barstow to learn teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and leadership through the game of softball.
As we look ahead, we have developed a two-year plan to strengthen our program and ensure long- term benefits for both our athletes and the community:
Year One (2025-2026): - Increase players by 20 new players each year through community outreach and social media outreach. - Provide enhanced training for coaches, umpires and volunteers, including safety, first aid, and skills development. - Upgrade league equipment and uniforms to meet current safety standards. Strengthen community involvement through fundraising events (Worlds Famous Chocolate), sponsorships, and volunteer opportunities. - Increasing clinics for players developmental skills in pitching, hitting, and fielding.
Year Two (2026-2027): - Work with the City of Barstow to improve field conditions to create a safer and more welcoming environment. - Launch development clinics and off-season training opportunities for players at all skill levels. - Establish scholarship opportunities to ensure that all children, regardless of financial situation, can participate. - Expand community events (tournaments, family days, city-wide showcases) that promote Barstow pride and attract visitors to our city.
We believe these goals will not only elevate the experience for our players but also strengthen community bonds, encourage youth participation in healthy activities, and showcase Barstow as a city that invests in its young people.
We are grateful for the partnership and resources the City of Barstow has provided, and we look forward to continuing to work together to make this vision a reality.
Thank you for your time and consideration. We look forward to your support for the upcoming seasons.
Sincerely,
David Sickler
