A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BARSTOW,
CALIFORNIA, TEMPORARILY CLOSING CERTAIN STREETS WITHIN THE CITY OF BARSTOW IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 21101(e) OF THE CALIFORNIA
VEHICLE CODE FOR STREET REHABILITATION PURPOSES
WHEREAS, Section 21101(e) of the California Vehicle Code (CVC) authorizes the City Council to adopt regulations temporarily closing a portion of any street for the construction and/or maintenance of such streets, when in the opinion of the local authority having jurisdiction, such closure is necessary for the safety and protection of persons who are to use that portion of street during the temporary closure, and WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Barstow does hereby find that the temporary closure of certain streets within the City of Barstow for road rehabilitation is in the interest of the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BARSTOW DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
1. The City Council of the City of Barstow hereby authorizes the closure of the following streets within the City of Barstow from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, as noted on the attached Traffic Control Plan/Detour Map (Exhibit A).
Closure of segments of Mountain View Street, between Barstow Road and Helen Runyon Drive/Seventh Avenue.
2. The City Council does hereby condition such closure upon placement of adequate traffic control device(s), as per the California Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices Plan (CAMUTCD) (Exhibit A), at the aforementioned location, as necessary to adequately advise drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians of the street closure and available detour routes, as defined in the Traffic Control Plan, to ensure public safety.
3. The City Council does hereby condition such closure upon the establishment of adequate detours as per the approved detour map(s) (Exhibit A).
4. The City Council does hereby authorize the reopening of such streets following completion of the street rehabilitation work being completed by the City’s contractor, Sully-Miller, but in no case later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.
