RESOLUTION NO. XXX-2026
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BARSTOW, CALIFORNIA SECOND AMENDMENT TO THE FISCAL YEAR 2026/2027 PUBLICLY AVAILABLE PAY SCHEDULE TO
COMPLY WITH CALIFORNIA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES’
RETIREMENT SYSTEM (CALPERS) STATUTORY AND
REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS PERTAINING TO PUBLICLY
AVAILABLE PAY SCHEDULES
WHEREAS, all employers who contract with the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (“CalPERS”) must comply with the publicly available pay schedule provisions contained within the California Code of Regulations Title 2, Section 570.5; and WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City Council to review and duly approve and adopt, in accordance with requirements of applicable public meetings laws, a publicly available pay schedule; and
WHEREAS, attached to this resolution and incorporated by reference is the City of Barstow’s publicly available pay schedule which will be made publicly available on the City’s website and made available upon request.
WHEREAS, the City Council previously adopted the Fiscal Year 2026/2027 Publicly Available Pay Schedule on June 16, 2026 and, on July 7, 2026, approved the First Amendment to the Publicly Available Pay Schedule to implement the salary adjustments contained in the Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Barstow and the Barstow Police Management Association (BPMA); and WHEREAS, the City Council now desires to approve the Second Amendment to the Fiscal Year 2026/2027 Publicly Available Pay Schedule to implement the salary adjustments contained in the Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Barstow and the Barstow Police Officers' Association (BPOA – Unit 3); and WHEREAS, this Resolution formally adopts the Second Amendment to the Fiscal Year 2026/2027 Publicly Available Pay Schedule on July 21, 2026, with an effective date of July 1, 2026.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Barstow, California as follows:
1. Approves and adopts the amendment to the Fiscal Year 2026/2027 publicly available salary schedule (Attachment A), to comply with California Public City Council Resolution No. XXX-2026 2
Employees’ Retirement System statuary and regulatory requirements for publicly available pay schedules.
2. Directs the City Manager or designee to make the amended salary schedule publicly available on the City’s website or available upon request; and to retain the salary schedule for not less than five years.
3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
