AGENDA ITEM
AGENDA MATTER:
APPROVAL OF NEW JOB CLASSIFICATIONS-POLICE SERVICES MANAGER, DEPUTY DIRECTOR SERIES
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
As the City continues to prepare for future growth and respond to increasing service demands, additional staffing is needed. The City Manager previously presented a staffing plan to the City Council that included additional positions to support these staffing needs. If approved, many of the positions listed below will be internal recruitments as part of the City Manager’s succession planning.

Staff is requesting approval to add a Police Services Manager and Deputy Director series to the City’s classification and compensation plan. At this immediate time, the only Deputy Director position the City intends to fill is the Deputy Director Park and Recreation on a limited term basis (retired annuitant). If an existing City employee is appointed or promoted in a Deputy Director position, the resulting vacancy will not be backfilled at that time.
