We recognize Manager and Coaches most directly make this possible so we provide them the tools to succeed as Little League Managers and Coaches We are committed to creating a culture in which coaches, parents, fans, umpires and athletes work together to achieve our mission.
Our goals and Mission of the Little League Volunteer
: Make the gametin Every player should feel like an important part of the team regardless of performance • Teach "life lessons" that have value beyond the the playing field • Teach the skills, tactics and strategie of the game and improves each player according to their Background Check Process
arstow Little League Softball utilizes the J.D. Palatine (JDP) background screening program provided through Little League International to help ensure the safety and well- being of all participants.
All volunteers serving in positions that involve interaction with players—including managers, coaches, umpires, team parents, and other league volunteers-are required to complete a Volunteer Application before participating in league activities.
Once a volunteer application is received, the league's Safety Officer submits the volunteer's information through the JDP background screening system. The volunteer then receives an email directly from JDP with instructions to complete the required personal information needed to process the background check.
JDP conducts a comprehensive screening through multiple national and state databases to identify any offenses that would disqualify an individual from serving as a Little League volunteer, with particular attention to crimes involving children. pon completion of the screening, both the volunteer and the league are notified of the results. Only individuals who successfully pass the background screening are approved to participate as volunteers within the league.
The league maintains records of volunteer background check statuses through the JDP reporting system. A sample audit report is attached to demonstrate how the league verifies and tracks the status of each volunteer.
This background screening process is completed annually for all volunteers in accordance with Little League International requirements and reflects Barstow Little League Softball's commitment to providing a safe and secure environment for every child participating in our program.
