SUBJECT: Consideration and possible action to consider a $1,000 contribution in Cannabis Education Funding to the Bellflower Ministerial Association for the 2022 Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast, which is scheduled for October 11, 2022.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On August 18, 2022, the Bellflower Ministerial Association (“BMA”) submitted a donor request letter seeking donations for the 2022 Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast. This event is coordinated by the BMA and is scheduled for October 11, 2022 at the Mayne Events Center. The BMA is seeking general donations to assist with event costs and to provide a scholarship to needy individual(s), particularly, vulnerable youth at risk of illicit drug use. As such, the recommendation is a $1,000 contribution in Cannabis Education Funding to the BMA for this event.
RECOMMENDATION TO CITY COUNCIL
1) If appropriate, approve a $1,000 contribution in Cannabis Education Funding to the Bellflower Ministerial Association; or
2) Alternatively, discuss and take other action related to this item.
