BACKGROUND
In January 2023, Public Works solicited bids for pest control services at various City facilities. Per BMC § 3.28.090, in its discretion, the City Council may reject all bids presented and readvertise for bids. The City wishes to receive more than two bids from qualified service providers; therefore, we recommend the City Council reject all bids and authorize the release of a new solicitation for bids. Pest control services would be provided at various City facilities including without limitation, Bellflower City Hall, Simms Park, Thompson Park, Caruthers Park, Riverview Park, Constitution Park, Pirate Park, Maintenance Yard, Sheriff’s Substation, Aquatic Center, and Zinn Park.
These services are essential to maintain the public facilities operating in a safe and sanitary condition. Public Works recommends the City Council authorize the release of a solicitation for bids for pest control services at various City facilities. -1-
