SUBJECT: Consideration and possible action to award a contract to Long Beach Ford LLC DBA BP Ford of Long Beach for the purchase of four 2023 F-150 pick-up trucks for the Public Safety and Public Works Departments which meet South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD) standards under Assembly Bill (AB) 2766, and authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with Long Beach Ford LLC DBA BP Ford of Long Beach, in a form approved by the City Attorney.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This action would award a contract to Long Beach Ford LLC DBA BP Ford of Long Beach (BP Ford) to perform the work described in the Notice of Request for Bids specification document for the purchase of four 2023 F-150 pick-up trucks.
RECOMMENDATION TO CITY COUNCIL
1) Award a contract to BP Ford for the purchase of four 2023 F-150 pick-up trucks; and authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with BP Ford, in a form approved by the City Attorney; or
2) Alternatively, discuss and take other action related to this item.
FISCAL IMPACT
BP Ford was the only dealership to submit a bid. The total cost of the four pick-up trucks will be $188,282.88. Funds are budgeted in Account No. 150-47500-3420 (AQMD Funding).
DISCUSSION
The award of a contract to BP Ford will be for the purchase of four pick-up trucks; two for the Public Safety Department and two for the Public Works Department. Each of the vehicles meet AQMD specifications which qualify them for funding under the (AB) 2766 subvention program. In our research, the Ford Motor Company is the only vehicle manufacturer which produces trucks that qualify for AQMD funding under the (AB) 2766.

The vehicles will be used to replace other high mileage vehicles currently in use by each department.
On May 17, 2023, a formal request seeking bids for the requested vehicles was released.
One bid was submitted at the formal bid opening on May 30, 2023. The name of the bidder and their bid amount is listed below:

BP Ford submitted a complete bid package. Staff has determined BP Ford is qualified to provide the necessary vehicles and has fulfilled the requirements set forth in the bid request. Staff concludes, BP Ford is the lowest and most responsive bidder and recommends awarding them the purchase contract for the vehicles. 2
