14-F
TO: Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council

ATTENTION: Jeffrey L. Stewart, City Manager

FROM: Len Gorecki, Assistant City Manager/Director of Public Works Natalie Rivera-Estrada, Management Analyst II

SUBJECT: Consideration and possible action to authorize the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 2 to Agreement File No. 923, in a form approved by the City Attorney, with Craftwater Engineering, Inc., to incorporate additional survey information for the southwest corner of Simms Park.

DATE: August 14, 2023

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This action would authorize the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 2 to Agreement File No. 923 with Craftwater Engineering, Inc. (Craftwater).

RECOMMENDATION TO CITY COUNCIL

1) Authorize the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 2 to Agreement File No. 923, in a form approved by the City Attorney; or

2) Alternatively, discuss and take other action related to this item.

FISCAL IMPACT

Amendment No. 2 would add $14,597 to Agreement File No. 923, for a total not to exceed amount of $1,454,972. Funds for the Public Safety Center are budgeted in Account No. 011-47253-9000.

BACKGROUND

On February 14, 2022, the City entered into Agreement File No. 923 with Craftwater for the design of the Simms Park Stormwater Capture Project, which includes the environmental review and preparation of CEQA documents for that project. Amendment No. 1 incorporated the Youth and Senior Center Project into the environmental review and CEQA documents being prepared for the Simms Park Stormwater Capture Project. Since the proposed Public Safety Center will also be located at Simms Park, Public Works requested a proposal from Craftwater to provide additional site survey information for the southwest corner of Simms Park. On July 10, 2023, Craftwater provided the requested proposal, which Public Works reviewed and found to be acceptable. The proposed Amendment No. 2 would provide neccesary site survey information for the design of the Public Safety Center.
