EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This action would award a contract to BP Ford of Long Beach (BP Ford) to perform the work described in the Notice of Request for Bids specification document for the purchase of three (3) half-ton full-size pickup trucks.
RECOMMENDATION TO CITY COUNCIL
1) Award a contract to BP Ford for the purchase of two (2) 2024 F-150 half-ton full-size regular cab pickup trucks and one (1) 2024 F-150 half-ton full-size super cab pickup truck; and authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with BP Ford, in a form approved by the City Attorney; or
2) Alternatively, discuss and take other action related to this item.
FISCAL IMPACT
BP Ford submitted the lowest bid. The total cost of the trucks is $140,026.91. Funds are budgeted in Account No. 530-18400 (Equipment Replacement Fund).
DISCUSSION
The award of a contract to BP Ford will be for the purchase of two (2) 2024 F-150 half-ton full-size regular cab pickup trucks and one (1) 2024 F-150 half-ton full-size super cab pickup truck for the Streets and Facilities Divisions. On May 2, 2024, a formal request seeking bids for the requested vehicle was released. Staff received two bids by the submittal deadline of May 23, 2024. The name of the bidders and their bid amounts are listed below:

BID ANALYSIS
BP Ford submitted a complete bid package. Staff has determined BP Ford is qualified to provide the necessary vehicles and has fulfilled the requirements set forth in the bid request. Staff concludes BP Ford is the lowest and most responsive bidder and recommends awarding them the purchase contract for the vehicles. -2-
