10 PUBLIC COMMENTS
Don Abbott, resident, addressed the City Council relative to loud parties and live bands in his neighborhood, 1) stating that he and his wife have lived in the City for 38 years, pay taxes, are sensitive to noise, and feel their right to peace in their home is being overlooked; 2) noted that the Sheriff Deputies are often too busy with more important calls to address noise concerns; and 3) inquired what the City could do about the situation, noting that his wife almost had a nervous breakdown the night prior over a loud party.
In response to comments provided by Don Abbott, Mayor Koops suggested he speak with Interim Director of Public Safety McNerney regarding the noise disturbances they’re experiencing.
Cheryl Williams, resident, explained that she is Mr. Abbott’s neighbor and has also noticed loud parties in the area, noting that the cul-de-sac behind his house is particularly rowdy and disruptive.
In response to comments provided by Cheryl Williams, Mayor Koops suggested she speak with Interim Director of Public Safety McNerney if she would like to contribute to the discussion regarding the noise disturbances in the area.
Oscar Villagomez, Library Manager, Brakensiek Library , shared summer programs being offered by the Library, including the "Summer Discovery" reading program and "Lunch at the Library" program where kids 18 and younger can enjoy lunch at the Library.
