DISCUSSION
The City of Bellflower joined the GWMA on June 14, 2010. The governing body of the GWMA is a governing board made up of one representative from each member agency of the GWMA. The City Council must appoint a member to the governing board of the GWMA and at least one alternate member by resolution. The governing board currently meets monthly and there is no stipend for attendance. The majority of the governing board members are senior staff of the member agencies. Currently, Assistant City Manager/Director of Public Works Len Gorecki serves as the primary board member and the alternate board member is vacant. Staff recommends reappointing Len Gorecki as the Board Member and appointing Public Works Manager Sarah Ho, as the alternate board member. The appointment would be effective immediately, through September 30, 2025, and would automatically renew for successive two-year terms if they remain employed by the City in their respective positions.
