SUBJECT: Consideration and possible action to authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with George Chevrolet, in a form approved by the City Attorney, for the purchase of two 2026 Chevrolet Blazer EV Police Package vehicles for the Public Safety Department.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This action would award a contract to George Chevrolet to perform the work described in the Notice of Request for Bids specification document for the purchase of two 2026 Chevrolet Blazer EV Police Package vehicles.

RECOMMENDATION TO CITY COUNCIL

1) Authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with George Chevrolet, in a form approved by the City Attorney, for the purchase of two 2026 Chevrolet Blazer EV Police Package vehicles; or

2) Alternatively, discuss and take other action related to this item.

FISCAL IMPACT

The total cost for the two vehicles is $98,945.66. Funds are budgeted in Account No. 150-47500-3420 (AQMD Grant). No general fund money will be used for the purchase of these vehicles.

DISCUSSION

On August 6, 2025, a formal request seeking bids from qualified bidders was released.

The Director Public Safety Department (“Director”) received four bids, with one being non-responsive. The names of the bidders and their bid amounts are listed below.

The Director recommends awarding a contract to George Chevrolet for the purchase of two 2026 Chevrolet Blazer EV Police Package vehicles.

3. Delivery Timeline

Delivery will be made directly to the City of Bellflower Public Safety Department upon receipt of the purchase order.

4. Terms and Conditions
- Validity: This bid is valid for 60 days from the submission date. - Payment Terms: Net 30 days from delivery and acceptance. - Inclusions: All applicable taxes, licensing, and registration fees are included in the bid price. - Exclusions: No additional upfitting beyond the specified police package is included unless requested and priced separately.
