14-E
TO:Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council
ATTENTION:Ryan Smoot, City Manager
FROM:Len Gorecki, Assistant City Manager/Director of Public Works Samuel Mulugeta, Management Analyst
SUBJECT:Consideration and possible action to authorize the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 1 to AFN 971 with Red Dragon Electric, Inc., in a form approved by the City Attorney, for on-call electrical maintenance services at various City facilities.

DATE:September 22, 2025

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This action would authorize the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 1 to Agreement File No. 971 (AFN 971) with Red Dragon Electric, Inc., to increase the not-to-exceed amount to $100,000, for on-call electrical maintenance services at various City facilities.

RECOMMENDATION TO CITY COUNCIL
1) Authorize the City Manager to execute Amendment No. 1 to AFN 971, in a form approved by the City Attorney, with Red Dragon Electric, Inc; or 2) Alternatively, discuss and take other action related to this item.

FISCAL IMPACT
Funding for maintenance services is included in the 2025-2027 Operating Budget under various Building and Grounds Maintenance accounts.

DISCUSSION
The City has an existing agreement (AFN 971) with Red Dragon Electric, Inc., for on-call electrical maintenance services at various City facilities. Due to additional repairs and ongoing service needs beyond the original scope, the authorized funding has proven insufficient. Amendment No. 1 increases the not-to-exceed amount to $100,000 to ensure the City can continue to address electrical maintenance and repair needs in a timely and efficient manner.
