GARY CANNON
We are thrilled to welcome back Gary Cannon
for his fourth year serving as emcee of the
BRAVO Awards. Gary has been in the comedy
business for over 25 years. After arriving in Los
Angeles, he quickly became a favorite at all the
Southern California Improv clubs. Gary's high
energy and ability tojump-starts crowd made
him an obvious choice for house emcee at not
only the Improv but other clubs including the
Laugh Factory and the world-famous Comedy
& Magic Club in Hermosa Beach. Many top
headliners request Gary to open their shows
including Ken Jeong (Community/The Masked Singer), Craig Robinson (The Office) and Jimmy 0 Yang (Silicon Valley/Crazy Rich Asians).
Gary's high energy and likability led him to do a unique job in television called an audience warm-up comic. Anyone attending a television taping has probably met Gary. He gets the crowd excited before and during production and has worked on some of the biggest shows in entertainment including The Voice, Dancing with the Stars and Conan O'Brien to name a few. Gary is currently the audience warm up comic for the Jennifer Hudson daytime talk show and the hit Fox reality show The Masked Singer.
Gary is most proud of his work with the USO performing for our troops and their families. In addition to performances in Iraq, Kuwait and South Korea, Garyjust served as host and emcee for the Heroes Honor Festival, an event at the Daytona International speedway with over 30,000 people in attendance celebrating our military.
Gary recently performed at both the Kia Forum in Los Angeles and Carnegie Hall in New York. And in 2024 he was the featured comedian in the hit Las Vegas Cirque Du Soleil show Mad Apple.
When Gary isn't on stage performing, he is a huge animal advocate. He works tirelessly, saving and transporting dogs from the shelter to vets and forever homes. During the pandemic, Gary housed over twelve dogs until they were safely placed with new owners.
JAMES WORTHY
James Worthy is a Hall of Fame basketball
legend, former NBA champion and one of the
most celebrated players in Los Angeles Lakers
history. Known for his smooth playing style
and clutch performances, Worthy earned the
nickname "Big Game James" for his ability
to rise to the occasion on the sport's biggest
stages. Over his 12-year NBA career, all with
the Lakers, he helped lead the team to three
NBA Championships and was named the NBA
Finals Most Valuable Player in 1988.
A standout at the University of North Carolina,
Worthy was a key member of the Tar Heels'
1982 national championship team alongside
Michael Jordan. He was selected as the No.
1 overall pick in the 1982 NBA Draft and
quickly became a cornerstone of the Lakers'
"Showtime" era, contributing to one of the
most dynamic teams in basketball history.
Beyond his achievements on the court, Worthy has built a successful career as a television analyst and motivational speaker, sharing lessons on teamwork, perseverance and leadership —values that reflect the spirit of the BRAVO Awards and the individuals being honored today.
Worthy is widely respected for his leadership and composure under pressure, qualities that defined his career and earned him the trust of teammates on and off the court. His ability to perform in critical moments continues to serve as a powerful example of dedication, discipline and teamwork. Worthy remains active in the community through charitable efforts and youth initiatives, using his platform to inspire the next generation. A longtime Southern California resident, he enjoys spending time with his family and continues to be a respected voice in the world of sports.
