DISCUSSION

On March 23, 2026, City Council authorized the City Manager to execute an agreement with Stanely Steemer of Los Angeles for the replacement of the carpet in City Hall, City Project No. 53701. During a walk through with the Contractor prior to the start of work, it was identified that two locations were inadvertently omitted from the original scope of work.

DISCUSSION – Continued

The carpet in these rooms is of similar age and condition as the other areas included in the project, and staff determined that replacing the carpet in these rooms at the same time would provide a consistent finished product throughout City Hall and avoid the need for a separate future procurement. The proposed change order includes the Green Room as well as the upstairs Auditorium Office and the hallway leading to the auditorium dressing rooms. Inclusion of these locations will ensure completion of the carpet replacement project as originally intended.
