Comment in regards to City Council Meeting January 24 Agenda Item 9B Belmont Community Foundation Memorandum of Understanding
The city council is asked to vote on the MOU for the Belmont Community Foundation and designate a representative, either the Mayor or another Councilmember, to periodically attend meetings of the Foundation’s board of directors as an advisory participant and liaison to the City Council. Since Belmont Mayor Mates is on the Board of Directors of the Belmont Community Foundation, it would be a conflict of interest to designate Mayor Mates as city council representative as an advisory participant and liaison to the City Council.
I aks the City Council to designate an indepent Council Member not involved with the Belmont Community Foundation. Each Council Member should disclose before voting on this item their involvement with the Belmont Community Foundation.
