PROJECT PHASES
Did you know? More than 1,700 local Belmont
youths attend programs at the community center
every week, and hundreds participate in outdoor
sports every day.

They need a safe, repaired community center
that has capacity for these activities, just like other communities have.

The City is looking into the most cost-effective
way to provide safe, updated spaces for these
activities, with a focus on qualifying this project for matching funds from the State or County.

SMART, EQUITABLE INVESTMENT IN BELMONT FAMILIES

NEED FOR A NEW BUILDING
The over-75-year-old Barrett Community
Center is bursting at the seams and cannot
meet current demand for programs. The
existing building faces leaks and structural
deterioration. To ensure it can safely serve
our community for generations to come, we
must bring it up to modern earthquake,
electrical, fire safety, and accessibility
standards.
