INTRODUCTION
This report is provided as an informational item to the City Council as the City hosted an interdepartmental Thank You event for Police Chief Dominick Rivetti on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts (the Wallis).
DISCUSSION
On Thursday, December 16, 2021, the City hosted an interdepartmental private farewell event to celebrate outgoing Beverly Hills Police Chief Dominick Rivetti at the Wallis Annenberg Center of Performing Arts (the Wallis) Lovelace Theatre. This event consisted of a brief presentation followed by a light reception at the Promenade Terrace.
Through the City’s lease agreement with the Wallis, the City receives twelve free use days a year where the City does not pay rental fees to the Wallis for the use of the space. The City does reimburse the Wallis for actual costs such as staff time and other ancillary expenses.
As of December, the City had several free use days remaining at the Wallis for 2021; therefore, the City was able to host this event at the Wallis using one of the remaining days.
FISCAL IMPACT
The costs associated with this event were funded by the City Council approved Fiscal Year 2021-2022 Police Department budget (00102104). All expenses were within the City Manager’s expenditure authority level as outlined in the City’s Municipal Code.
Meeting Date: January 4, 2022
While the City’s Agreement with the Wallis permits free use of the space, there were ancillary costs for labor, production, and various vendors. These costs did not exceed $2,500.00.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council receive and file this report.

Assistant City Manager
