Hello,
I am so upset that George Gascon is the DA. My parents live in Beverly Hills and I am always so worried for them. My partner and I recently moved to the Beverly Grove area this past year, and on 2 separate occasions, we both got robbed at gunpoint either in front of our home or on a walk a few blocks away (keep in mind we don’t wear anything flashy).

They never found the perpetrators that did this horrible act to my partner, but they found mine. I went to court and was promised by the DA on my case that she would consult the victims outside of the courtroom before entering. That promise was broken. The person who committed the crime sat in front of me with no notice. None of the victims were called, court date was moved, and never heard from the court again. I was told that the criminal was being tried for a different case and that they would contact me, which they never did. Yes, the perpetrator definitely did steal more than “$951” from me.

I feel like our justice system has crumbled. Never in my entire life, until George Gascon was put in office, have I heard the words “murder” and “robbed at gunpoint” in my vicinity. My friends uncle was stabbed to death outside his home. A friends husband stabbed to death in his own jewelry store in downtown. A Persian man stabbed in his own home in the valley, and a neighbor on colgate Ave. stabbed in his own property. Avante. Beverly Hills and Los Angeles residents. All the robberies that happen to innocent patrons eating at restaurants. We must take Gascon out of office. We the people do not feel safe in Beverly Hills or Los Angeles. Taking a walk in the evening is a huge risk, and this shouldn’t be the case.

Driving through LA, I have seen far too many cars without front and back license plates. I am constantly reporting suspicious cars coasting  in front of my parents street. Gascon has given the golden key to criminals who are taking advantage of the legal system to commit such heinous crimes. I cannot believe how many citizen notifications I receive for “robbery at gunpoint”. What are laws if they have no meaning? I have not met one person in Los Angeles, republican or democrat, who feel that Gascon is doing a good job. He needs to leave and our cities and laws need to heal
Best,
Aaron Azizi, Beverly Hills and Beverly Grove resident

Dear Council,
I’m writing relative to the effort to recall DA Gascon.

I have so enjoyed living in Beverly Hills for the past 35 years. I raised my children here and always felt very safe until the summer of 2020 when chaos ensued due to protests. We all know how difficult 2021 was due to criminals entering our neighborhood and committing crimes with impunity.

I now have 5 young grandchildren who have not been able to sleep over in close to two years.

I simply cannot take a chance that something could happen that could potentially put them in danger. My husband and I always make sure one of us are home for fear of intruders attempting to enter our home.

All of the crime, chaos and fear that our community has been subjected to for the past two years is a very sad state of affairs and cannot continue. Our safety is being is comprised, this is no way to live.

I urge you to recommend recalling DA Gascon, he bears enormous responsibility for most of the criminal activity we are being subjected to today.

Sincerely,
Margo Monkarsh
