Dear Council Members,
I received a flyer showing the route of a proposed bike path that will navigate throughout our city.
I object to a route through the 100 block of North Le Doux Road. We have more traffic on this street as it is used as a shortcut to avoid the extremely busy intersection of La Cienega and Wiltshire. It is difficult enough to try to backup onto this street while oncoming traffic, north-bound and south-bound , come roaring on this street. The intersection of La Cienega and Wiltshire needs to be realigned to be able to handle the heavy traffic flow it now carries. The Metro subway will only exasperate the problem by adding more pedestrian traffic to an already gridlocked intersection. Some of you “old-timers” on the Council will recall that we needed to go to permit parking to get the traffic generated by Cedars Medical Group and the SLS Hotel. The traffic has not improved since them only the tree of driving need. It has gone from finding parking to whizzing through to get to Wiltshire or to La Cienega via Clifton.
Please do not deteriorate our quality of life more than it already is. Do NOT put a bike route on the 100 block of North Le Doux Road.
I suggest the Clifton be made a one-way street heading East. That would stop the south-bound traffic from entering this street at all. That way only north-bound traffic could access this street. It would be an inconvenience to the residents but worth the sacrifice if traffic were to be reduced.
