INTRODUCTION
Provided below for your review and approval are the proposed City Council meeting dates from June 21, 2022 through July 19, 2022. This report takes into consideration the next City Council election, which will take place on June 7, 2022. Staff will return again for City Council feedback on the remaining dates for the year, once the new City Councilmembers have been formally seated.
Should these meetings not be scheduled in advance, then the regular schedule as indicated within the Beverly Hills Municipal Code (BHMC) 2-1-1 will go into effect. The regular meeting schedule is the first and third Tuesdays of each month, with Study Session meetings at 2:30pm and Formal meetings at 7pm.
DISCUSSION
Previously, at the March 15, 2022 Study Session, staff provided proposed City Council Meeting dates for April 26 through June 14, 2022. This report provides additional dates from June 21 through July 19, 2022.
The next Beverly Hills General Municipal Election is scheduled for June 7, 2022. The Los Angeles County Registrar/Recorder’s office has indicated that it may take up to 30 days to provide a certification of the election. The City is required to install new electeds at the first regular meeting after receipt of the certification results from the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk’s office.
With that in mind, it is requested that the July 5, 2022 meeting date be moved to July 12, 2022 to accommodate for the certification timeline. The July 5, 2022 meeting is the first Tuesday of July and occurs immediately after the Independence Day holiday.
Should the certification process with Los Angeles County be completed without any issues, such as recounts or runoffs, then a proposed installation date for the newly elected Council (three seats) and City Treasurer could be July 12, 2022. The Mayor and Vice Mayor positions will remain, with no change.

Per the Beverly Hills Municipal Code, regularly scheduled City Council meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays of the month.
