RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council schedule a hearing date to review the Certificate of Ineligibility for the property located at 1001 North Rexford Drive. It is recommended that the City Council set the hearing date for June 21, 2022.

INTRODUCTION
On March 2, 2022, the Director of Community Development issued a Certificate of Ineligibility for the property located at 1001 North Roxbury Drive. Subsequently, Councilmember Mirisch requested that the item be agendized in order to provide the City Council with the opportunity to discuss whether or not to call the item up for review. On March 15, 2022, the item was considered by the City Council, and at that meeting, two previously unknown periodicals with articles that discussed the residence were brought to the Council’s attention. Due to the fact that there was not sufficient time to review the articles and determine if they could have a material impact on the City Council discussion, the Council continued the item to the April 12, 2022 meeting. The representatives of the applicant agreed to waive the timelines set forth in the Municipal Code to allow the Council to continue the item to April 12 for this review.

On April 12, the City Council discussed the item once more and ultimately voted to call up the decision for review. At that meeting, no hearing date was set for the review of the Certificate of E-1

Ineligibility, as it was not clear how much time may be needed in order to gather additional information and facts about one of the periodical articles in question.

DISCUSSION
At this time, staff recommends that the City Council set the hearing date for the review of the item for the June 21, 2022 meeting. Staff is confident that this provides ample time to collect and bring forward all pertinent information for the City Council’s consideration on the item.

FISCAL IMPACT
There is no anticipated fiscal impact to the City, as this agenda item only intends to schedule a hearing date for an appeal of the Community Development Director’s decision.
