RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that City Council move to accept the described work by Abundant Water Wells, Inc. in the final amount of $797,624.93 and authorize the City Clerk to record the attached Notice of Completion.
INTRODUCTION
This report provides information to City Council for the acceptance of the contract work in the final amount of $797,624.93 and authorization for the recordation of the Notice of Completion by the City Clerk with the Los Angeles County Recorder.
DISCUSSION
On March 16, 2021, following a competitive bidding process for the Drilling of Nested Monitoring Well at 2323 South La Cienega Boulevard project, City Council awarded a contract in the amount of $803,887 to Abundant Water Wells, Inc. Additionally, a contingency of $80,389 (10%) was approved, for a total purchase order amount of $884,276.

Public Works Engineering Division staff oversaw completion of the work and is satisfied that it was completed according to the contract documents for this project.
FISCAL IMPACT
The original construction contract purchase order (which included a contract amount of $803,877 plus an $80,389 contingency amount) was $884,276. The final contract amount is $797,624.93, leaving a purchase order balance of $86,651.07, which will be returned to the fund balance.
The current amount paid on the contract is $757,743.68 with a retention balance of $39,881.25 due to be paid 35 days after the recordation of the Notice of Completion.
