Dear BH City Council,
As a frequent visitor to the Beverly Hills, and also as an active cyclist, -- I would like to urge you to vote "YES" on the Doheny Drive Bike Lanes project. This is a key thoroughfare for the cycling community, and bike lanes are necessary, to ensure safety for bicyclists.
As I'm sure you know, bike lanes are a win-win situation for both cyclists (by keeping them in a dedicated lane) and motorists (by keeping cyclists away from the car lane). it is an absolutely necessary addition to Doheny!
Also, please install bike lanes both ways, and throughout the entire portion of Doheny. Do not implement "Sharrows" instead -- as Sharrows only creates confusion and clashes between motorists and cyclists.
Lastly, I read an email on your online file - that a resident expressed concern, stating "There is no room for a bike lane" -- Well, it appears the resident has not done proper research or analysis, because in reality -- there is plenty of room for bike lanes on Doheny Drive, so there should not be an issue about space.
