INTRODUCTION
This item provides the City Council with the certification of election results from the June 7, 2022 General Municipal Election as provided by the office of the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk.
DISCUSSION
The City of Beverly Hills held its General Municipal Election on June 7, 2022. There were 11 candidates who contested for three (3) City Council seats. There was also an election for City Treasurer, which had three (3) candidates for one (1) seat. And finally, a Ballot Measure TL on term limits. The candidates are listed in the order of votes received:

The results as provided by the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk’s office have certified that the following candidates will be eligible for a four (4) year term as Councilmembers and City Treasurer for the City of Beverly Hills:

Howard S. Fisher
There were 9,041 votes cast for City Council and City Treasurer, and 9,020 votes for Measure TL from 22,439 registered voters in the City of Beverly Hills.
This report requests the City Council approve the results of the June 7, 2022 General Municipal Election as provided by the office of the Los Angeles County RegistrarRecorder/County Clerk.
Per the election results included in this report, it is requested that all four candidates, Lester J. Friedman, Sharona R. Nazarian, PsyD, John A. Mirisch and Howard S. Fisher be sworn in as Councilmembers and City Treasurer respectively for a four (4) year term until June 2026.
FISCAL IMPACT
A final report on costs associated with the election are pending receipt and will be provided as the information becomes available.

RESOLUTION NO. 22-R-______________
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEVERLY
HILLS RECITING THE FACT OF THE CONSOLIDATED
GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF
BEVERLY HILLS ON JUNE 7, 2022, DECLARING THE RESULTS
AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS PROVIDED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, a Consolidated General Municipal Election was held and conducted in the City of Beverly Hills, California, on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, as required by law; and WHEREAS, notice of the election was given in time, form and manner as provided by law; that candidates were nominated to fill the vacancy or vacancies as provided by law; that vote centers were established; that election officers were appointed and that in all respects the election was held and conducted and the votes were cast, received and canvassed and the returns made and declared in time, form and manner as required by the provisions of the laws of the State of California for the holding of elections in general law cities; and WHEREAS, the Los Angeles Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk canvassed the returns of the election and has certified the results to the City Council, the results are received, attached and made a part hereof as Exhibit A;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The whole number of precinct ballots cast at the vote centers except vote by mail (absentee) ballots and provisional were 1,506.
The whole number of vote by mail and provisional ballots cast in the City were 7,535, making a total of 9,041 ballots cast in the City.
Section 2. The names of the persons voted for at the election for Member of the City Council are as follows:

Section 3. The names of the persons voted for at the election for City Treasurer are as follows:
Gabrielle Pantera-Rowe
Howard S. Fisher
Jake Manaster
Section 4. The number of votes cast at vote centers and the number of votes given in the City to each of the persons above named for the respective offices for which the persons were candidates were as listed in Exhibit A attached.
Section 5. The City Council does declare and determine that: Lester Friedman was elected as Member of the City Council for the full term of four years, that Sharona Nazarian was elected as a member of the City Council for the full term of four years, that John A. Mirisch was elected as a member of the City Council for the full term of four years and that Howard S. Fisher was elected as City Treasurer for the full term of four years.
Section 6. The City Clerk shall enter into the records of the City this resolution with a statement of the results of the election, showing: (1) the whole number of ballots cast in the City; (2) the names of the persons voted for; (3) for what office each person was voted; (4) the number of votes given at each vote center to each person; and (5) the total number of votes given to each person as listed in Exhibit A, attached.
Section 7. The measure voted on, Measure TL, stated as follows:
“Shall an ordinance be adopted by the City of Beverly Hills to establish a total three term limit during one’s lifetime for the offices of City Councilmember and City Treasurer in the City of Beverly Hills?”
Section 8. That the total number of yes votes received for Measure TL was 6,405 and the number of no votes received was 1,453 and that the total number of votes cast for Measure TL was 9,020. The ballots cast counts includes all ballots cast, for this measure that would entail counts for the yes, no, unvoted and overvoted. That the number of votes given at each precinct and the number of votes given in the City for Measure TL were as listed in Exhibit A, attached.
Section 9. The City Council does declare and determine that Measure TL was passed by the voters of the City of Beverly Hills.
Section 10. The City Clerk shall enter in the records of the City this resolution with a statement of the result of the election, showing: (1) the whole number of votes cast in the City; (2) the name of the measure voted upon; (3) the number of votes given at each precinct for and against the measure; and (4) the total number of votes given in the City for and against the measure as listed in Exhibit A, attached.
Section 11. The City Clerk shall apprise the persons elected of their election to the offices of City Council and City Treasurer; the City Clerk or a duly authorized person shall administer to each person elected the Oath of Office prescribed in the Constitution of the State of California and shall have them subscribe to it and file it in the Office of the City Clerk. Each and all of the persons so elected shall then be inducted into the respective office to which they have been elected.

Section 12. The City Clerk of this City shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution and enter it into the Book of Resolutions of this City, which entry shall constitute the City Clerk’s statement of the results of the election.
